CANADA MORTGAGE
AND HOUSING CORPORATION
Has made pertinent
changes to its
Residential
Rehabilitation Assistance Programs, Homeowner and Disabled
"RRAP-Homeowner"
is meant to bring substandard housing up to a minimum level of health
and safety
Homeowners
who have a household income that falls below the CMHC set ceiling
for their area may be eligible for a forgivable loan of up to $16
000 to address major home repairs such as:
Unsafe
heating systems
Unsafe
electrical systems
Unsafe
plumbing systems
Serious
structural problems or
Fire Safety
"RRAP-Disabled"
provides assistance for the modification of existing homeowner and
rental housing to improve the accessibility and use of the dwelling
unit for occupant(s) with disabilities.
Again, household
income must be below the ceiling, with the maximum forgivable amount
being $16 000.
