Emergency Services

9-1-1

The fully operational system utilizes the latest in computer and GPS satellite technology. It provides emergency dispatch of ambulance, fire and police services to all of Bruce County.

In case of an emergency dial 911. Your call will be dispatched to the appropriate response organization. Please remember that if you are calling from a cellular phone, the dispatcher will not be able to access your location. It is important that you are aware of your civic address. Your civic address is your house number and street or, if you are in a rural area, the green sign along the roadside. Residents are asked to have their address numbers clearly visible on their houses. If you are in a rural area you are required to replace your 911 sign if it is damaged or missing. Signs can be ordered at the Municipal Office.

Police

Kincardine Detachment of the South Bruce OPP

Fire Departments:

Two volunteer fire departments serve the Township of Huron-Kinloss. The Lucknow & District Fire Department and the Ripley-Huron Fire Department are maintained as distinct entities.

Community Policing

The Huron-Kinloss Community Policing Committee is a representative group of community volunteers formed to provide consultation on issues identified to them by the police and/or their community. The primary role of the committee is to be an "information collector". From time to time, the committee may provide recommendations to police for resolution of community issues. Enforcement to resolve any problems remains with the police.
