Water

The communities of Ripley, Lucknow and some shoreline areas are serviced by water systems. All other rural areas in the municipality are serviced by individual wells.

All laboratory reports on the analysis of water samples, compliance reports, Ministry of Environment approvals and Ministry of Environment provincial orders are available for review at the Township Office in Ripley.

Solid Waste Disposal

In an effort to preserve and maximize the life of our landfill sites, provide an equitable level of service across the newly amalgamated municipality, ensure that recyclables get recycled and provide ease of access to these services, there are a number of services offered to Huron-Kinloss residents for waste disposal.  Curbside garbage pick up and blue box recycling is offered throughout the whole municipality.  Weigh scales are in operation at the Huron Landfill Site.  Everything that comes through the gates will be weighed.  The rates are as follows: 

All garbage bags require a tag $1.50

Disposal of Waste $69.50/tonne

Minimum charge per load $10.00

Please note the minimum charge is in addition to the $1.50 per bag tag.

Fees for the disposal of tires:

Free of Charge:  Brush, Stumps, White goods (CFC removal tag), Recyclables, Scrap Steel, Corrugated Cardboard

The Kinloss Landfill Site will only be accepting recyclables, including brush, tires, steel and white goods.  Kinloss residents are able to take household garbage to the Huron Landfill Site.  Lucknow residents can transport recyclables, including brush, tires, steel and white goods to the Kinloss Landfill Site.   Household garbage must be taken to the Midhuron Landfill Site. 

Household Blue box pick up

BASWR will be providing bi-weekly curbside Blue Box pick up throughout the municipality.  Blue boxes can be purchased for $6.00 at the municipal office.
