Meet Our 2018-2019 Judges
The 2018-2019 Huron-Kinloss Win This Space Program has a panel of six judges.
Belinda Wick-Graham is the Business and Economic Manager at the Town of Minto where she has developed new innovative economic development programs suited for rural communities. Belinda loves working with people of all backgrounds, from council to staff, to business residents to volunteers to join in making Minto a leader in rural economic development. When Belinda is not working, you can find her traveling, playing sports, enjoying good food and spending time with friends and family. Belinda also dedicates her spare time to Harriston- Minto Agricultural Society where she is acting Director, and the Minto Arts Council where she is currently Secretary.
Jill is the Manager of Economic Development for the County of Bruce where she passionately leads a team of high achieving professionals with a goal to positively impact the quality of life in Bruce County now and into the future. Prior to her employment with Bruce County, Jill was the Manager of the Business Enterprise Centre serving Bruce County located in Port Elgin. On a daily basis, Jill worked with entrepreneurs helping them with various aspects of starting or growing a business in Bruce County.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1984, Jill held many positions as a Conventions and Meeting Planning Executive.With a team of meeting professionals, she planned and executed many meetings and conventions for a wide range of trades. These positions warranted extensive travel throughout the US, Canada and Europe. In 1995, she focused her career objectives towards marketing and writing. She was the Marketing and Sales Director for MaComb Community College in Warren Michigan, Fluxtrol Manufacturing and the Centre for Heating Induction both located in Troy, Michigan.
Jill, a native of the United States, often visited Bruce County with her late husband, a native of the area, during vacations. Like many others, she fell in love with the quality of life, the breathtaking sunsets, the pristine Lake Huron Shoreline, the beautiful rural landscapes and the magnificence of the Bruce Peninsula. She and her family moved here in 1996 and in 1998, she received her landed Immigrant status in Canada, where she now calls home. In 2004, Jill returned to school as a graduate student at the New York Institute of Technology. She received her MBA from Ellis College in October 2006.
When she is not promoting Bruce County as a place to live, visit or grow a business, Jill is very busy with her family and fitting in time for her addiction to running.
Keith Raymond is a Certified General Accountant and Certified Financial Planner. After 20 years in public accounting, focusing on small business, personal and corporate tax, transitioned to the financial services industry and operates West Coast Financial Services in Lucknow providing clients with investment and life insurance products. As an Investment Funds Advisor, he also offers mutual funds and segregated funds through Worldsource Financial Management Inc.
Keith and his wife, Loree have lived in Lucknow for 40 years. He has served as President of the Lucknow and District Chamber of Commerce for the past 2 years.
In 2003 my wife, three kids and I immigrated from Denmark to Lucknow. We started Protekta Inc. that year as an import and distribution company introducing primarily Danish products and knowledge for the modern livestock production. Today Protekta Inc. is a distributor of innovative feed ingredients and other preventative health products. We work in Canada and USA with offices in both countries. All our products are developed and manufactured in Europe. In 2018 Protekta Inc. made the list “Growth 500” (Canada’s fastest growing companies), with only 6 AG related companies on the list.
Alongside running Protekta Inc. I was active president for the Lucknow Chamber of Commerce for a period of 6 years. As a family, my wife has also been very involved in the local community with her retail stores Nine Waves. One of the keys to our success has been “thinking” different and off course customer service on all levels.
Glenn Grubb is the General Manager of Hurontel. HuronTel provides voice, data (including LAN extension services), Internet, security, digital tv andcellular services to approximately 10,000 homes, businesses, health care and educationalinstitutions in Mid-Western Ontario. Glenn oversees the operations of the co-operative including, finance, human resources, technology, policy, regulatory matters, marketing and contract negotiations. He is also serves as a Director at Co-operative Synergies Inc. and President of Comcentric Networking Inc.
A licensed funeral director for almost 20 years. Present co-owner of MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Homes in Lucknow and Ripley since 2009 and has been a family business since 1952. I am also an xray technologist and worked in Vancouver for 7 years at the Vancouver General Hospital in emergency, ICU and OR departments as well as the Wingham & District Hospital when I returned to the area. Born in Kincardine but has also lived in several other communities- Ottawa, Renfrew, Pembroke, Lucan, Wingham, Mount Forest, Lucknow, London, Cambridge, Vancouver, Teeswater and finally Ripley. Married to Steve Fry who was raised and grew up in Ripley. 3 children. Involvement within the community- has been past president of the RHCS student council, president of Skating Club (still on executive) and secretary of the Ripley Business Community for the past 3 years. Husband is volunteer fire fighter with RHFD.
