Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation

The Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation is a grassroots organization formed to protect and restore the Lake Huron shoreline environment.  Please see the right hand side for a link to their website for ideas on what you can do to protect our beautiful water playground.

Have a look at the Lake Huron Coastal Dune Plants Guide for a comprehensive description of hundreds of plants and trees that grow on the shore of Lake Huron.  See which ones are the native, non-native and invasive as well as what you should or should not do with them.  The file is quite large so it does take some time to download.

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is proud to support the work of the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation.

Beach Management Best Practices Guide

In consultation with the Lake Huron Shoreline Coastal Conservation, a Beach Management Best Practices Guide has been created. The guide is a tool to assist residents and lakeshore property owners to understand the diverse beach dynamics of Lake Huron and to assist the Township in ensuring a strong and healthy shoreline for years to come. The Township is requesting feedback in regards to the content in the Beach Management Best Practices Guide. Please read through the guide and fill out the survey (at the link below). We recommended opening the Beach Management Best Practices Guide in a separate window while filling out the survey.
