Lakeshore Enforcement

The Township of Huron-Kinloss has an agreement with the Ministry of Natural Resources that The Township of Huron Kinloss By-Law Enforcement Officer may enforce any posted rules and regulations along the Lake Huron shoreline which is crown owned. (Section 28 Public Lands Act R.S.O. 1990).

Posted Regulations are:

1. No littering
2. Clean up after your pets
3. No destruction of beach dunes
4. No motorized vehicles on the beach

The beaches and dunes are fragile systems and these policies aim to minimize negative impact on both.

A balance must be struck between human activity and people’s enjoyment of the beach, with the conservation of our beach-dune system, which aims to preserve the integrity of the beach for the benefit of future generations.
