Lucknow & District Fire Department

The Lucknow Fire Department is jointly operated by the Township of Huron Kinloss and the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.  They service from the easterly boarder of the Township of Huron Kinloss west to the Huron-Kinloss Township Road for the residents of Huron-Kinloss  (see Lucknow Fire Department map)

The corporate mission statement of the Lucknow & District Fire Department is “To serve and protect our neighbours to the best of our ability”.

The Fire Department consists of 23 volunteer firefighters including a Chief, Deputy Chief, Training Officer, Secretary, Senior Captain, three Captains, fifteen firefighters and one auxiliary fire fighter.   All are actively involved in keeping up their training skills.
 
The fire department moved into their new fire hall in 2010.   A  pumper truck was obtained in 2008 to go along with a rescue vehicle and a 1700 gallon tanker.   

For the year ended December 31, 2010 the Lucknow Fire Department responded to 90 calls.  This included:

• 20 major structure fires
• 14 motor vehicle accidents
• 55 first response calls
•   1 false call
