Marriage Commissioners

Ontario Regulation 285/04 provides for the authorization of the Clerk to solemnize marriages with the authority of a licence in Ontario. The Clerk has chosen to delegate this authority to marriage commissioners who provide civil marriage solemnization services to couples. The Township of Huron-Kinloss currently has three commissioners who perform this service.

All bookings and payments for marriage commissioner services are administered through the Township of Huron-Kinloss.The fee for this service is $350, payable to the Township.  A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking to guarantee your preferred date, with the $250 balance due one month prior to the wedding.

Our Marriage Commissioners are delighted to perform your wedding ceremony at the beach, in your backyard, in a park, or any reasonable location of your choice. Together with you, they will design a ceremony that will make your special day one to remember.

Vicky Morrison RIHR,CCC

Vicky brings to the community over 20 years of experience in the Life Mentoring that includes Milestone Celebrations. Together with her husband Roger, she owns and operates Grassroots Rural Retreat located on Hwy 86 east of Lucknow. As your Marriage Commissioner, Vicky will work closely with you to co-create a Civil Ceremony that expresses and reflects the sacred nature of your love in a personal way. Vicky invites you to give the Centre a call and set up a time to meet with her to explore your ceremony needs. Vicky looks forward to the journey with you both.

Allan Tranter

Allan is a lifelong resident of the Ripley -Kincardine area. He is recently retired, having worked as a teacher for the Bluewater Board of Education and as a local business owner. Civil wedding ceremonies are available for all couples wishing to join together in marriage. As Marriage Commissioner, he would be pleased to officiate your wedding at a location of your choice, be it formal or informal. Allan is inspired by your love and commitment and looks forward to being part of your upcoming special day!

Crystal Middelkamp-Morais

Crystal and her husband Nemo decided to move back to the wonderful community of Huron-Kinloss in the fall of 2007 to raise a family. Crystal spent 17 years pursuing a career in the Funeral Service Industry. She helped many families create and design meaningful ceremonies for their loved ones and is a Certified Celebrant. As your Marriage Commissioner she will be pleased to help you create the perfect ceremony. Crystal ’s motto is “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away”, which is a guarantee for your special day.

Sue Bradley
