Property Standards
Every yard and every vacant lot shall be kept clean and free from:
- rubbish or debris and objects or conditions that might create
a health, fire, or accident hazard;
- wrecked, dismantled, discarded or abandoned machinery, vehicles,
trailers or boats unless it is necessary for the operation of
a business enterprise lawfully situated on the property;
- long grass, brush, undergrowth and noxious weeds as defined
by the Weed Control Act;
- dilapidated or collapsed structures or partially constructed
structures which are not currently under construction;
- injurious insects, termites, rodents, vermin or other pests;
and
- dead, decayed or damaged trees or other natural growth,
The Township has initiated an aggressive enforcement of By-Law
99-124, and the By-Law Enforcement Officer has been directed to
issue orders without warning or complaint. It is our hope that by
remedying these situations the enjoyment of everyone's property
is enhanced.
