Parents Auxiliary
General Information
The Parents' Auxiliary to Minor Sports is a non profit organization run by volunteers. The group was organized with the intent to raise money to off-set expenses incurred by the minor sports organizations. It is with mandate that the Parents' Auxiliary will continue to service the Ripley & Area, supplying a food booth at the arena that is stocked with a variety of food items and supplies. The Parents Auxiliary continues to provide assistance to all (hockey , soccer & baseball) minor sports. New this year in the food booth is Ripley Wolves Merchandise, check it out in the document located in the right hand margin of this page.
Annual Meetings
There are two General Meetings-spring and fall. Every parent is encouraged to attend General Meetings.
The Spring 2011 General Meeting will be held on Tues April 12th, 2011 @ 7:30 pm in the Social Room at the Ripley Arena. The meeting is open to all parents of Ripley Huron Sports programs.
Fundraising
The main source of fundraising is the operation of the Food Booth. we have many "behind the scenes" volunteers who order ,stock,and clean the booth. We rely on the parents of all Ripley-Huron Sport programs to ensure the successful operation of the booth during hockey games and special events such as fall Fair, Winter Carnival, Hockey Tournaments and Figure Skating Competitions.
Membership
Every parent who has a child registered in any Ripley-Huron Minor Sport program (hockey,soccer,baseball etc) entitles you to a membership in this volunteer organization.
Volunteer Commitment
Each family is to provide a $200.00 cheque to Parents' Auxiliary. This will only be cashed if you have not fulfilled your volunteer commitment.
It is expected that each family volunteer "4 turns" per season. The season runs from Oct - Oct. A family volunteer must be at least 14 years of age- this is due to liability insurance limitations. High school students are welcome to "volunteer" in the Booth as part of their Community Involvement Hours. Please contact the President if interested.
" 1 turn" is considered:
- 2 minor hockey games or 1 Public Skating or 1-two hour special event (Fall Fair,Hockey Tournament, Winter Carnial, Banquet setup/cleanup etc)
" 2 turns" is considered:
- 1 Ripley Wolves Senior Team game.
Our booth callers are working hard to spread the shifts around so that every one is treated fairly. Please assist them to ensure the booth is open. Each team is responsible for their "home ice time.
