The Bruce Beach Club is the oldest golf club in Bruce County
and is one of the areas best kept secrets. In 1903 a
minister came to Bruce Beach to introduce the cottagers to
the game of golf and at that time six holes were made.
The course was enlarged to nine holes in 1907 and the golf
club was formed. Membership then was 25 cents and to
enter into a tournament was 10 cents. The greens were
made of sand in 1913, and remains sand today.
In 1914 a tennis club was formed.
This non-profit club is maintained
by the Bruce Beach cottagers and operates on the honour system. Memberships
are available from the cottagers.
