Shipwreck pieces in Huron-Kinloss

On May 25th, 2021, the Township of Huron-Kinloss was notified that pieces of a 19th Century shipwreck washed ashore at one of our beaches. The Ontario Marine Heritage Committee (licence 2020-08) and Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry have launched archaeological investigations to gain further information about the shipwreck.

Huron-Kinloss Reopens Outdoor Recreation Amenities
In response to the latest provincial announcement, effective Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 12:01 am, outdoor amenities in Huron-Kinloss can reopen, following the public health safety guidelines.
These activities include:

- Soccer, football and sports fields

New Yard Waste Depot

There is a new yard waste depot open just east of the Huron Landfill entrance (2087 Concession 6 E). Brush, leaves, branches, and grass clippings can be brought in paper bags at no charge.
Brush must be less than 150mm (6") in diameter and no more than 3 metres (10') in length. No stumps or logs are permitted.
Abuse of this facility may result in the removal of the depot.
