Landfill Sites and Hours
We have two Landfills in the Township of Huron-Kinloss:
Huron Landfill |

Here is a list of things that are free of charge
To the east of this site at 2083 Concession 6 E, there is a seasonal yard waste depot that operates 24/7 from April to November, where grass, leaves, brush, and small branches (no logs or stumps) can be taken. No contractors, please. |
Kinloss Landfill |
The Kinloss Landfill is located at 690 Kairshea Ave. Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. from 1st Saturday in April to last Saturday in October Accepted waste:
All taken free of charge. |
Proof of residency
Only residents and property owners can use the Landfill sites. You may be asked for proof such as your Driver's Licence or a tax bill. Please bring something with you so you are not turned away.
Proof of source
Only waste from the Township can be taken to the Landfill sites. You will need to fill out a Proof of Source form and bring it with you whenever you are taking waste to the site.
Landfill monitoring reports
The Huron Landfill Annual Monitoring Report and Kinloss Landfill Annual Monitoring Report are prepared by contracted engineers and sent to the Ministry of Environment, Conservation & Parks (MECP), per MECP regulation.
Yard Waste Depots
There are two yard waste depots in the Township of Huron-Kinloss, one at the Huron Landfill and one by the Lucknow soccer fields. Both sites are open seasonally (April to November) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Household garbage, plastic bags, construction material, logs and stumps are NOT permitted.
Accepted Yard Waste includes:
- brush
- leaves
- branches
- grass clipping
Huron Landfill yard waste depot: 2083 Concession 6 E.
Lucknow yard waste depot: 907 Havelock St. just South of the soccer fields.
Abuse of these facilities may result in the removal of the depots.
