“Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”
Celebrating Her Majesty in Whitechurch and Point Clark

HURON-KINLOSS, ON: Local resident Richard Christy has been inspired by The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) initiative. Christy has donated two English Oak trees in honour of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.

On Friday, May 20th, 2022, all are welcome to attend two different tree ceremonies to plant the donated trees:

  • 1:00 p.m. at the site of the former Whitechurch Hall, 9 Whitechurch Street

  • 2:15 p.m. at the Point Clark Lighthouse, 529 Lighthouse Road

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, is the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee which marks 70 years of service. While the anniversary fell on February 6th of this year, celebrations continue throughout 2022.
