Looking for Lighthouse Stories

Have a Say in Your Community Museum! Point Clark Lighthouse Museum Looking for Stories

Imagine the stories you’d have to tell if you were nearly 170 years old! The Point Clark Lighthouse is nearing that milestone, and staff are collecting the tales centred around the national historic site.

“There’s so much history anchored in the Lighthouse and shoreline area. We’re lucky to have Katie Worthen on board with us this summer as Heritage Coordinator to research it. She will be working with the community to bring together these tales,” said Amy Irwin, Business and Economic Officer for the Township of Huron-Kinloss.

The public is invited to meet Worthen on Monday, June 27th or Tuesday, July 19th from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Point Clark Community Centre. People can bring their stories, photos, and treasures to help shape the vision for the museum.

For more information about the two events, call 519-395-3735 ext. 155 or e-mail lighthouse@huronkinloss.com.

Shine Bright! The Point Clark Lighthouse Museum Revitalization Campaign launched earlier this month. The fundraising campaign seeks to raise $200,000 towards the creation of new exhibits. Learn more about the preservation and celebration of local history on our Point Clark Lighthouse webpage.
