Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (s.32)

Notice is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the
Township of Huron-Kinloss

Nominations in the Township of Huron-Kinloss for the following offices:

  • Mayor One (1) to be elected at large
  • Deputy Mayor One (1) to be elected at large
  • Councillors Five (5) to be elected at large
  • English Public School Trustee for the Bluewater District School Board
  • English Separate School Trustee for the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board
  • French Public School Trustee for Le Conseil Scolaire Viamonde
  • French Separate School Trustee for Le Conseil scolaire catholique Providence

Nominations can be made by completing and filing the prescribed Nomination Form – Form 1 and the Endorsement of Nomination Form – Form 2 with the Clerk. The nomination must be accompanied by the prescribed nomination filing fee of $200 for the Mayor and $100 for all other offices. The filing fee is payable by cash, debit, certified cheque or money order.

Nominations for an office on Council must be accompanied by an Endorsement of Nomination signed by at least twenty five (25) qualified electors.

A nomination must be signed by the candidate and may be filed in person or by an agent during regular business hours, between May 2, 2022 and August 18, 2022 and between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on August 19, 2022 (Nomination Day).

Only original forms, submitted in person or by an agent, will be accepted. A nomination will not be accepted without ID or the nomination fee. A nomination paper must be certified by the Clerk before such candidate becomes a certified candidate.
