Boiler Beach

In the North of the Township you will find the remains of the Erie Belle, a Great Lakes Steamer that crashed on the rocks on November 21, 1883.  The boiler of the Erie Belle juts out of the water just off of the shoreline.  The area has for decades been known as Boiler Beach. A Cairn placed on the shore, bears this inscription:"The Erie Belle exploded south of Kincardine November 21, 1883 killing four men in an attempt to free the schooner 'Carter'.  The Boiler remains a lasting memorial to Lake Huron Sailors" Several access points for Boiler Beach are available along Boiler Beach Rd. Seasonal Washrooms are located at the west end of Conc 12, and Pentangore Row access
