The corporate mission statement of the Lucknow & District Fire Department is
“To serve and protect our neighbours to the best of our ability”.
The Lucknow and District Fire Department moved into their new Fire Hall in August of 2010 and is a volunteer fire department including a Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, five Captains, and seventeen firefighters. Within the Captain ranks there is also a Secretary, Training Officer & Assistant Training Officer. Through ongoing training and Public Education, the Lucknow Fire Department is dedicated to Fire Prevention and life safety for the residents in their communities.
The Lucknow Fire Department is jointly operated by the Township of Huron Kinloss and the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh. They serve the areas from the Easterly boarder of the Township of Huron-Kinloss West to the Huron-Kinloss Township Road for the residents of Huron-Kinloss. In Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh they serve from Amberley Road at Donnybrook line West to Lake Huron and South to Nile Road. Areas excluded are South of Glens Hill Road from East of Prosperity Line to Donnybrook Line. (see "ACW Coverage Map" on right hand side).
Apparatus operated by the Lucknow Fire Department include a 2008 Spartan Pumper truck as their Main Engine, a 2003 F450 Rescue truck that responds to all calls and a 2016 International Tanker truck. In early 2019 the Lucknow Fire Department will be putting a new Rescue truck into service.
