Lucknow Legion Kicks Off Fundraising Campaign
$5,000 Donation from Lucknow Legion Kicks Off
Fundraising Campaign for Lucknow Community Health Centre
The Royal Canadian Legion Lucknow Branch 309 has pledged $5,000 to support the Lucknow Community Health Centre with medical equipment and furnishings. The goal is to raise $150,000 to outfit the Health Centre with up to date medical equipment, technology and furniture.
The Townships of ACW and Huron-Kinloss jointly undertook the renovation of the Health Centre. The renovation was key to the successful recruitment of Drs. Justin Puntillo and Sean Henderson who plan to open their new practices in Lucknow. The two Townships have gone above and beyond their usual mandates to make the renovation happen because investing in local healthcare will have long term benefits for everyone in Lucknow and the surrounding area. They are turning to the community to help support the final costs of medical equipment and furniture. This is the final piece of the puzzle that will allow the two new physicians to move from their temporary clinic in Wingham to their permanent home in Lucknow.
Thanks to the generosity of the Lucknow Legion branch the fundraising is off to a good start. The Legion members plan to honour their multi-year $5,000 pledge through the proceeds of their new Catch the Ace raffle. Catch the Ace has been wildly successful in many communities and generates lots of excitement as the jackpot grows each week. Tickets can be purchased at the Legion, Lucknow Co-Op, Mary’s Restaurant, Home Hardware and Pollock’s in Ripley. Draws take place each Friday at 8pm. Attend the draw for immediate results or check Facebook the following day.
Everyone on the board of the Lucknow Community Health Centre is filled with gratitude for the Legion members’ generous donation and for the time and effort they put into Catch the Ace to make this donation possible.
Anyone who is interested in making a donation to the Lucknow Community Health Centre and helping bring our two new docs home to Lucknow are encouraged to contact Florence Witherspoon at Township of ACW at 519-524-4669 or firstname.lastname@example.org
