The Township invites you to an evening of practical learning and connection. This event is designed to help your organization navigate the challenges of modern volunteering—from finding new members to planning for the long term—while strengthening the bond between local groups and the Township.

  • Time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

  • Location: Ripley-Huron Community Centre 

  • Cost: Free to attend. Registration required.

The Program

  • 6:00 p.m. | Networking & Appetizers An informal chance to connect with peers. Light appetizers and refreshments will be served

  • 6:35 p.m. | Keynote: "Connecting Through a Culture of Volunteering" Heather Keam from the Tamarack Institute will share insights on building civic participation rooted in purpose and community connection.

  • 7:50 p.m. | Event Planning Mel Moulton will provide a high-level overview and checklist for safe event planning with support from the Township.

  • 8:05 p.m. | Township Updates & Closing A brief update on municipal initiatives followed by a group photo and acknowledgments.

About the Speaker

Heather Keam, Consulting Director of Asset‑Based Community Development (ABCD) and Belonging Strategy at the Tamarack Institute, brings 22+ years of experience in community development and collaborative change. She helps communities uncover local assets, spark civic participation, and grow a culture of volunteering rooted in connection and purpose. Heather is a passionate advocate for community-driven development and gives back to her community through a variety of volunteer opportunities in Brant County.

Join us for an evening that will equip you with practical tools, fresh ideas, and meaningful connections.

Please register for this event by April 16, 2026 to ensure we have adequate seating and refreshments. You can register yourself, as well as other members from a group/organization you belong to, on their behalf.
