 Relief Snow Plow Operator - Casual

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is recruiting experienced Relief Snow Plow Operators. This position operates a variety of equipment for snow removal purposes, on a relief basis. 

Applicants must possess the following skills/qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment

  •  Mental alertness

  • Quick decision making

  • AZ/DZ drivers license

  • Experience operating heavy equipment

  • Experience operating a snow plow

  • Experience dealing with the public

  • Experience patrolling winter roads, or be available to attend a patrolling course

 Landfill Attendant - Part Time

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is recruiting a part-time Landfill Attendant for the Department of Public Works.

This position oversees the entry and exit of all vehicles to the landfill. Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays 18 hours per week.

The applicant must possess:

  • General knowledge of services provided

  • Experience handling cash transactions

  • Computer and software knowledge

  • Professional manner in dealing with the public

  • Ability to work independently

 Landfill Worker - Full Time

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is recruiting a qualified person for the full-time position of Landfill Worker. This position assists the Operator-in-Charge with the general maintenance and daily operations of the landfill sites (Huron and Kinloss).

Qualifications:

  • Working with the public

  • Valid drivers license

  • Operation of specialized equipment, such as compactor, and loader

  • Ability to work alone, or in a team environment

  • Attention to detail

  • Good organizational skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Mental alertness & hand eye coordination

 Drainage Superintendent - Part Time

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is currently recruiting for a part-time Drainage Superintendent. This position maintains, inspects and repairs municipal drains, coordinating new drain installations, liaising with landowners and creates and distributes drainage assessments, also coordinates and inspects for Tile Loan applications.  There are no set hours for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Municipal Drainage Superintendent course; or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment

  • Agriculture experience

  • Ability to understand and interpret pertinent legislations, bylaws and policies

  • Math, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to deal with the public and outside agencies

  • Computer and software knowledge

The Lucknow & District Recreation Department is recruiting for a Full-Time Facility Operator & Parks Maintainer. Reporting directly to the Facility Manager/Recreation Coordinator, this position is based on a 40 hour work week and includes full benefits. The duties of this position include operation and maintenance of the Lucknow & Dist. Sports Complex, Outdoor Pool, Parks, Baseball Diamonds and Soccer Fields.

 Relief Crossing Guard - Casual

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is recruiting for a Relief Crossing Guard. This position is responsible for assisting school age children safely across an established cross walk for safe arrival to and from school.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the applicable rules and regulations of the Highway Traffic Act
  • Experience working with people
  • Well-developed verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • A completed vulnerable sector check
  • Ability to stand for 2 hours per day
  • Ability to walk and work in hot and cold weather including rain and snow
