 Facility Screener - Part-Time Contract

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is recruiting for Facility Screeners to work at the municipal facilities. The successful candidates would be self-motivated and solutions-oriented. They would use sound judgment, demonstrate tact, diplomacy and sound discretion when working with the public. 

The Facility Screener will confirm completion and eligibility of the Covid-19 screening of residents and visitors entering the community centres and municipal event space to access in-person programs and services. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Experience dealing with the public
  • Administrative experience would be an asset
  • Proven verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate honestly, openly, respectfully and politely
  • Demonstrated good judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory police record and vulnerable sector check as a condition of employment

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is recruiting a qualified person for the position of Business & Economic Officer for a 12 month contract. This position promotes the Township and its strengths as a place for investment, growth and development and is also responsible for Tourism Development.

  • Municipal knowledge
  • Geographic Information systems training and knowledge
  • Working with the public
  • Computer and software knowledge e.g. Microsoft Office

 Public Works Operator - Full Time

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is recruiting for a qualified person for the position of Public Works Operator. This position maintains and operates a variety of equipment to construct roads and maintain the services provided by the Public Works Department. This position is part of a collective agreement and works 40 hours per week. 

Qualifications:

  • Valid AZ license 
  • Must be results oriented
  • Able to operate and maintain a variety of equipment to construct roads and maintain the services provided by the Public Works Department
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Good communication and organization skills

 Facility Maintainer - Full Time

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is currently recruiting for a Full Time Facility Maintainer. This position is responsible for the general maintenance of all aspects of parks and facility maintenance and any other services provided by the community services department, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Specialized training in facility maintenance, ice making and maintenance (ORFA courses)
  • Training on specialized equipment; eg., ice resurfacer
  • Facility and equipment maintenance experience
  • Ability to work alone or in a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to perform preventative and routine maintenance on a variety of equipment
