About the Role:
The Manager of Environmental Services is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of policies and procedures that ensure the sustainable management of our township's water, wastewater, stormwater, and solid waste systems. This includes staying up to date with industry standards and environmental regulations to guide our operations.
- A key aspect of this role is supporting the annual capital and operational budget planning process. This involves analyzing and forecasting long-term financial needs, recommending user fees and rates, and supporting budget requests to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality environmental services.
- You will provide operational support and leadership during environmental incidents or spills, ensuring a swift and effective response that minimizes impact and follows all relevant regulations.
- You will be responsible for the administration of all Environmental Services, including the management and oversight of third-party contractors and staff who operate our water and wastewater facilities and waste collection systems. This entails regular performance reviews, contract management, and ensuring service delivery aligns with our township's standards and expectations.
- Additionally, you will be expected to stay informed about emerging technologies and innovative solutions in the environmental services sector. This includes researching, evaluating, and recommending new processes or equipment that could enhance our operations and improve our environmental footprint.

Who We're Looking For:
- Someone with excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail and is deadline oriented.
- A combination of formal training and related municipal experience is preferred.
- Drinking Water Quality Management System (DWQMS) training and knowledge of the Clean Water Act, 2006, Safe Drinking Water Act 2002 is required.
- Drinking Water and Wastewater Licenses and Manager of Landfill Operations Certification is an asset.
