The Township of Huron-Kinloss is recruiting for a Casual Facility Operator in our Community Services department. This position will assist in maintaining the facilities in a clean and safe manner on a casual basis.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work alone or in a team environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude to perform preventative/routine maintenance.
  • Ability to deal with public.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Specialized training in facility maintenance, ice making and maintenance (ORFA courses).
  • Training on specialized equipment; e.g., Olympia

This position will  be responsible for the general maintenance of all aspects of parks and facility maintenance and any other services provided by the community services department as required.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Specialized training in facility maintenance, ice making and maintenance (ORFA courses)
  • Experience operating a variety of equipment eg. tractors, zero turn lawn mowers
  • Training on specialized equipment; e.g., ice resurfacer, ice edger
  • Experience with and the ability to perform preventative and routine type maintenance on a variety of equipment
  • Customer service skills and experience
