Departments

The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer is responsible to:

• The Chief Administrative Officer is the principal advisor on matters of policy and provides overall leadership and direction for the organization
• The Chief Administrative Officer oversees Township operations while the Department Heads are responsible to the CAO for the efficient operation of their respective departments
• Overseeing human resources  and employment including recruitment, selection, retention, employment policies
• Provides strategic direction for the Township
• Develop and promote economic development in the Township
• Coordinate residential, commercial and industrial developments
• Coordinate with our NWMO and Natural Gas project partners
• Coordinate tourism activities

The Building and Planning Department is responsible to:

• Provide building permits and inspections for construction projects
• Provide information and support for the Township's Official Plan and Zoning By-Law
• Coordinate planning applications with the County of Bruce
• Manage the Septic Inspection Program
• By-Law Enforcement

The Clerk's Department is responsible to:

• Maintain, create and file municipal records
• Provide support to the Mayor and Council
• Provide licensing including marriage licenses, death certificates, lottery licenses, etc.
• Coordinate marriage commissioners
• Oversee municipal drainage projects
• Coordinate freedom of information requests, complaints and code of conduct
• The Line Fences Act governs disputes over line fences, with the Clerk responsible for administering arbitration. 

The Community Services Department is responsible to:

• Provide recreation programs and services
• Maintain public facilities
• Maintain public parks and trails
• Manage the Ripley Cemetery
• Coordinate the Township's environmental initiatives

The Financial Management Department is responsible to:

• Provide strategic support for all financial aspects of the Township
• Prepare financial reports and statements
• Manage budget including property tax rates
• Coordinate the Township's asset management program

The Fire and Emergency Services Department is responsible to:

• Provide fire safety and protection
• Provide fire prevention education services
• Coordinates Township's emergency management plan
• Coordinate the Township's fire permit application program

The Public Works Department is responsible to:

• Manage water and wastewater for the Township
• Maintain all Township roadways
• Provide garbage and recycling services
• Manage Landfill sites
