Open Air Fire Permits are required for all Township of Huron-Kinloss properties wishing to conduct open air burning and for Township of Huron-Kinloss property owners, residents and/or tenants wishing to have a beach fire.
A permit is not required for barbecues and permanent outdoor fireplaces used solely for the cooking of food on a grill. Recreational fires (campfires) and fires set in containers such as chimineas, metal tubs or fire pits do not require a permit.
Once the information is submitted and the $20.00 fee is paid a permit will be issued and can be emailed back to the applicant.

Open Air Fire and Beach Fire permit fees: $20.00 per year.
Permits expire on December 31 of each year. Fire Permits are automatically renewed at the beginning of each year and the permit holder will be mailed an invoice for payment
Open Air Fire Permits are not transferable.
Beach Fire Permits are issued to a specific property and are transferable to the occupants and/or users of such property.
No person under the age of eighteen (18) years may apply for, or obtain, a Fire Permit.
Recreational Fires (Camp Fires) that comply with the regulations and are contained to your own property or a property in which an individual has permission to use are exempt from requiring a Fire Permit under the Open Air Burning By-law.
