2026 Municipal & School Board Election

The Township of Huron-Kinloss will hold its 2026 Municipal and School Board Election on Monday, October 26, 2026.

Voting will take place using a secure internet and telephone voting system. This will be the fifth municipal election in Huron-Kinloss conducted using online and telephone voting.

The voting period opens at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026, and closes at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026 (Election Day).

Important: Voter Registration Update

The Province of Ontario's online voter registration period ended August 12, 2026.

If you still need to add your name to the voters' list or update your information, you are not too late to vote.

Beginning September 1, 2026, you can come to the Township of Huron-Kinloss Municipal Office to apply to add or update your information on the voters' list. If you are applying to be added to the voters' list, you will need to provide proof that you are eligible to vote.

The following Council offices will be elected during the 2026 Municipal Election:

  • Deputy Mayor (1) (Acclaimed)
  • Councillors (5)

All Council members are elected at large, meaning they are elected by voters across the entire Township. The Township of Huron-Kinloss does not have municipal wards.

Eligible voters will also vote for their school board trustee(s), where applicable.

The following dates are important for voters, candidates, and third-party advertisers participating in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election in the Township of Huron-Kinloss.


Nomination Day

August 21, 2026

  • Last day for candidates to file nomination papers
  • Last day to withdraw a nomination or change the office sought
  • Nominations must be filed by 2:00 p.m.

Voting Period

October 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
to October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m.

Eligible voters may cast their ballot online or by telephone at any time during the voting period.

Voters who require assistance can receive support at the Voter Help Centre at the Municipal Office during posted hours throughout the voting period.

2022-2026 Council

The members of the 2022-2026 Huron-Kinloss Council were sworn into office on November 15, 2022, and serve until November 2026.
