2026 Municipal & School Board Election

The Township of Huron-Kinloss will hold its 2026 Municipal and School Board Election on Monday, October 26, 2026.

Voting will take place using a secure internet and telephone voting system. This will be the fifth municipal election in Huron-Kinloss conducted using online and telephone voting.

The voting period opens at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026, and closes at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026 (Election Day).

Still Need to Register to Vote?

It’s not too late to register to vote or update your voter information for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election.

The Province of Ontario’s Register to Vote website can no longer be used to register or update your information for the Muncipal and School Board election.

Not sure if you’re on the Voters’ List? Call the Election line at 519-395-5150 to check.

If you are not on the Voters’ List, you will need to visit the Municipal Office at 21 Queen Street, Ripley in person. You will be required to complete an Application to Amend the Voters’ List (Form EL15) and provide identification showing your name and qualifying address.

Can’t make it to the office during the week? You can visit the Municipal Office on Saturday, October 10 for voter registration and updates. You can also register or update your information during the voting period, including at the Voter Help Centre on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25. See hours below.

Nomination Day

  • Last day for candidates to file nomination papers
  • Last day to withdraw a nomination or change the office sought
  • Nominations must be filed by 2:00 p.m.

Voting Period

October 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

Eligible voters may cast their ballot online or by telephone at any time during the voting period.

Voters who require assistance can receive support at the Voter Help Centre at the Municipal Office during posted hours throughout the voting period.

2022-2026 Council

The members of the 2022-2026 Huron-Kinloss Council were sworn into office on November 15, 2022, and serve until November 2026.

In accordance with section 88(9.1) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, the Township of Huron-Kinloss is required to make candidates' financial statements available to the public in an electronic format.
