Freedom of Information

The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) legislation applies to all municipalities in Ontario and to various other "institutions" such as local boards and commissions. This act gives you the right to request access to government-held information, including information about you.

The Council of the Township of Huron Kinloss is the "Head" as defined in the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy in Municipalities and Local Boards Act. Requests under the Act are processed by the Clerk.

In accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Privacy Act, personal information is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001 for the purpose of creating a municipal record to be used to communicate with you about services, programs, and changes or disruptions in services, future mailings and distribution of municipal communications.
