Mayor Don Murray Re-Elected as Bruce County Deputy Warden for 2025-2026 Term
The Township of Huron-Kinloss is proud to share that Mayor Don Murray has been re-elected as the Deputy Warden of Bruce County for the 2025-2026 term. The election took place on Thursday, December 4, 2025, during the Inaugural Council Meeting of Bruce County Council, held in the Walkerton Administration Centre.
Mayor Don Murray has been a dedicated representative of Huron-Kinloss since 2006, serving three terms as Councillor, one term as Deputy Mayor, and now as Mayor since 2022. His extensive experience and commitment to community growth and collaboration make him a valuable part of Bruce County Council’s leadership.
Luke Charbonneau, Mayor of the Town of Saugeen Shores, was re-elected as Warden for the 2025-2026 term, marking his second time in the role. Both Warden Charbonneau and Deputy Warden Murray were officially sworn into their new positions by Bruce County Clerk Linda White.
Bruce County Council, composed of the locally elected Mayors of the eight lower-tier municipalities in the County, oversees the management of shared community resources and services. As Deputy Warden, Mayor Murray will support the Warden’s duties, including representing Bruce County at official events and advancing critical initiatives for the region.
“It’s been a truly rewarding experience to serve as the deputy Warden and I look forward to continuing to learn under the leadership of Warden Charbonneau,” said Mayor Don Murray. “The work that we do does come back home. I’m interested in continuing to showcase Bruce County, specifically our agricultural strengths at both the 2026 International Plowing Match and through continued advocacy to extend processing capacity in the County.”
Huron-Kinloss CAO Jodi MacArthur extended her congratulations to Mayor Murray, saying, “We are thrilled to see Mayor Murray re-elected to this leadership role with Bruce County Council. His ongoing dedication to the community and commitment to collaboration will continue to benefit all residents of Bruce County. Congratulations, Mayor Murray, on this well-deserved achievement.”
The Township of Huron-Kinloss congratulates both Warden Luke Charbonneau and Deputy Warden Don Murray on their elections and looks forward to the continued growth and success of Bruce County under their leadership.
