Your property tax bill is based on your property's assessed value and the tax rates that apply to your property.

Your total property tax bill includes:
- Township of Huron-Kinloss taxes — support local municipal services.
- County of Bruce taxes — support county services.
- Education taxes — support local school boards.
The Township sets tax rates each year. Your property assessment is determined by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC).
Tax Rate By-law
Each year, Council approves the Township’s tax rates through the municipal budget process. These rates are used to calculate the municipal portion of your property tax bill.
How Your Property Tax Bill Is Determined
Your property tax bill is calculated using your property's assessed value and the applicable tax rates.
1. Property Assessment
Your property's assessed value is determined by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC). Questions about your assessment, property classification, or assessment changes should be directed to MPAC.
2. Tax Rates
Tax rates are applied to your property's assessed value to determine your property taxes. The Township of Huron-Kinloss sets municipal tax rates each year through the municipal budget process. Your bill also includes County of Bruce and education tax rates.
