Property taxes help fund municipal services provided by the Township of Huron-Kinloss, as well as services delivered by the County of Bruce and local school boards.
Your property tax bill is based on your property's assessed value, determined by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC), and the tax rates approved annually by Council.

Property Tax Due Dates

Interim Bill: due the first business day of March and June

Final Bill: due the first business day of September and December.
Consider setting a reminder so you don’t miss a due date.
Payments must be received by the due date. Make sure to allow enough processing time based on your payment method.
If you miss a due date:
- A 1.25% penalty is added on the first day of default.
- An additional 1.25% is added on the first day of each calendar month that the balance remains unpaid (15% per year).
- Late penalties cannot be waived or reduced by the Treasurer or Township staff.

Pre-Authorized Payment Plan (PAP)
Pay your property taxes through your bank’s online or telephone banking service.
How to set it up:

Search for “Huron-Kinloss” in your bank’s list of payees

Select the option for property taxes
- Use your property tax roll number as the account number
Important:
- Payments can take a few days to process
- Submit your payment early to ensure it arrives before the due date

In Person, by Mail, or Drop Box

A secure drop box is available at the Municipal Office entrance for cheque payments.

How to set it up:
- Contact your financial institution or use your bank’s telephone banking service.
- Add Township of Huron-Kinloss as a bill payment payee.
- Select the property tax payment option.
- Enter your property tax roll number as the account number.
Important:
- Your property tax roll number must be entered correctly to ensure your payment is applied to the correct account.
- Telephone banking payments may take several business days to process.
- Submit your payment early to ensure it is received by the Township by the due date.
- Contact your financial institution directly if you require assistance setting up telephone banking.
